CeRP carries out research, both theoretical and empirical, on issues related to pension economics and the economics of ageing, on factors affecting retirement and, more generally, on the welfare of the elderly. The main research topics include pension systems design, reform and evaluation; households’ saving; retirement patterns, paths and choices; life insurance and annuities; intra/intergenerational redistribution induced by different pension systems; public policies and incentives towards retirement savings; intergenerational accounting; welfare policies directed at the elderly; participation in supplementary pensions; governance and financial aspects of pension funds. Research is performed both at the micro and at the macro level, and a special attention is devoted to policy aspects. A key activity at CeRP is the construction of simulation models to evaluate the performance of pension systems as well as their micro-economic features, on the basis of different indicators. Particular attention is paid to policy implications and the debate on pension reform at the Italian and European level. CeRP is committed to an international approach. In fact, an important objective of the Centre is to promote cooperation at the European level, collaborating with European institutions and research centres; CeRP is part of various international networks, particularly in the field of policy-oriented research and in the evaluation of pension systems and reforms. The main research fields are: analysis of pension systems through simulation models and Money’s Worth Measures households’ saving, with a focus on savings for old age asset allocation policy of pension funds long term care and women’s workforce participation earning profiles, labour productivity and pension reforms
